About PodcastingPodcasting is a term used to describe a collection of technologies for automatically distributing audio and video programmes over the Internet using a publisher/subscriber model. It differs from earlier online collections of audio or video works because it automatically transfers the files to the user's computer for later use; it is one example of "push" technology. Podcasting enables independent producers to create self-published, syndicated "radio shows," and gives broadcast radio or television programs a new distribution method. Just about any digital video player or computer with video-playing software can play a movie podcast. From the earliest RSS-enclosure tests in 2000 and 2001, feeds have been used to deliver video files as well as audio, and other media such as photographs and text are transferable by podcast. A podcast is not the same as a webcast, which normally refers to a show distributed by streaming media. Podcasting is a portmanteau that combines the words "iPod" and "broadcasting." The term is often thought to be a misnomer since neither podcasting nor listening to podcasts requires an iPod or any portable player, and no broadcasting is required. The term is also sometimes criticized as giving undue credit to Apple for a technology which it had very little to do with creating. Aware of this potential misunderstanding, some writers have suggested alternative names. One such alternative is "blogcasting", which implies content based on, or similar in format to, blogs. Others include "audioblogging" and "rsscasting". Some writers have also suggested reinterpretations of "pod", such as "Personal, On-Demand" or phonetically "Portable Audio". Podcasting of video data is called, among other things, "video blogging", "video podcasting", "vlogging", "vodcasting", "vidcasting", or "modcasting" (for movie podcasting). Find out about new releases, free stuff and more! There's lots of ways to stay in touch with EZTakes:
EZTakes has the largest catalog of legal, DRM-free movie downloads on the planet! We've focused on getting the independent, comedy, cult, horror, classic and foreign films that you won't find in most video stores. Our catalog also includes numerous titles that won awards at the world's most prestigious international film festivals. Try some of our free downloads, or check out our featured movies page.
You don't have to install any new software because nearly all of our titles can be downloaded using a standard Web browser. If you want to download DVDs, however, you'll need our FREE Download Manager, which will help you download and burn DVDs that will play in just about any DVD player. If you don't already have our download manager on your Windows or Mac computer, you'll be prompted to get it when you check out a title.
DRM, or Digital Rights Management technology, restricts when, where and how customers can enjoy the content they purchase from other download sites. That causes nasty surprises when DRM stops people from using their downloads for legitimate purposes, like burning DVDs, moving movies to a new computer or watching them on a portable device. Even though Apple iTunes, and just about every other legal movie download site, imposes DRM restrictions, we don't. That's because we want our customers to get the most value from their legitimate purchases.
EZTakes signs distribution agreements with all film owners, or their representatives. Those agreements almost always restrict us from selling some films in some countries. We very much want to be able to sell all films in more countries; however, getting the legal rights to do so is not always within our power.
Please remember to check the EZTakes site periodically since we are always publishing more downloads that we can distribute in more countries.

Although the most popular titles on EZTakes area available as DVD downloads, some are only available as MP4 downloads. Even though you cannot easily burn MP4s to discs that will play in most standard DVD players, you can still play MP4s on almost any computer or video-enabled device (i.e., Windows, Macs, iPads, Google Androids, etc.).
When you rent a title from EZTakes, you have thirty days to start watching it. After that, you have three days (72 hours) to watch it as many times as you want. Since we stream our rentals from our server, you need a broadband Internet connection when you watch them. If you're not sure that you'll have Internet access, you can also buy and download our titles to your computer, and then play them anywhere you are (on a plane, the beach, etc.).
