History
EZTakes, Inc. was founded in June 2003, by a management team with a long track record of starting and building highly-successful companies in diverse industries such as banking, document management and consumer e-commerce. Shortly after starting the company, the founders assembled a team of experienced enterprise software engineers and then kicked off the development of the EZTakes Movie Download Store, which they believe is the "killer app" for feature-length movie distribution over the Internet. While other Internet video distribution implementations require that consumers huddle around a PC monitor to watch a feature-length film, EZTakes is the first service that enables tens of millions of consumers to purchase, download and then enjoy content in their living rooms, without having to buy, install, configure or learn any new devices; consumers can simply use the DVD players that they already own.
Our Mission
Perhaps the greatest challenge the entertainment industry faces today is that it must learn how to compete with "free." EZTakes believes that in order to compete with "free," you must offer a level of value and convenience that makes your offering better than free. You cannot compete with "free," and protect old business models, by using highly restrictive and ultimately futile technology designed to control paying customers. This enables us to carry out our primary mission: Connect movie owners with paying customers by using the Internet. Downloading is EZ!
You don't have to install any new software because nearly all of our titles can be downloaded using a standard Web browser. If you want to download DVDs, however, you'll need our FREE Download Manager, which will help you download and burn DVDs that will play in just about any DVD player. If you don't already have our download manager on your Windows or Mac computer, you'll be prompted to get it when you check out a title.

Why We Don't Use DRM
DRM, or Digital Rights Management technology, restricts when, where and how customers can enjoy the content they purchase from other download sites. That causes nasty surprises when DRM stops people from using their downloads for legitimate purposes, like burning DVDs, moving movies to a new computer or watching them on a portable device. Even though Apple iTunes, and just about every other legal movie download site, imposes DRM restrictions, we don't. That's because we want our customers to get the most value from their legitimate purchases.

Why is this title not for sale in my country?
EZTakes signs distribution agreements with all film owners, or their representatives. Those agreements almost always restrict us from selling some films in some countries. We very much want to be able to sell all films in more countries; however, getting the legal rights to do so is not always within our power.
Please remember to check the EZTakes site periodically since we are always publishing more downloads that we can distribute in more countries.

You can still enjoy these titles by downloading and burning them to playable DVDs using the EZTakes Download Manager.

Although the most popular titles on EZTakes area available as DVD downloads, some are only available as MP4 downloads. Even though you cannot easily burn MP4s to discs that will play in most standard DVD players, you can still play MP4s on almost any computer or video-enabled device (i.e., Windows, Macs, iPads, Google Androids, etc.).

72 Hour Rental
When you rent a title from EZTakes, you have thirty days to start watching it. After that, you have three days (72 hours) to watch it as many times as you want. Since we stream our rentals from our server, you need a broadband Internet connection when you watch them. If you're not sure that you'll have Internet access, you can also buy and download our titles to your computer, and then play them anywhere you are (on a plane, the beach, etc.).
