Like one of the major characters, Gaurang Doshi’s Aankhen also seems to suffer from schizophrenia. It crams quite a bit in, flitting between humor, action, drama, heist film, thriller, and a smidgeon of romance. The transitions aren’t always seamless, but the end result yields a rather enjoyable film, sprinkled with the obligatory Bollywood musical numbers. The characters are carefully given opportunities to display their individuality, and they each have their own reasons for going along with Mr. Rajput’s planned heist.

Largely, the characters make the movie. The movie bases quite a bit of its suspense on Mr. Rajput’s unpredictability, and also fosters doubt in the viewers by forcing them to question the capabilities of the three blind robbers. As Aankhen emphasizes fiercely, however, one’s greatest strength is often also one’s greatest weakness. With so many characters, each with their own ambitions and needs, a lot needs to be tied up at the end, and it is at the end that Aankhen falters. Several sufficient stopping places are passed, and things become increasingly sloppy and random. The weak ending doesn’t compromise the movie too badly though; Aankhen is worth your time, but it will take quite a bit of it.

This is the first film which will be remake by Hollywood soon. That means that Aankhen is worth to see it. Why? Just see it and you will get your answer by yourself!!!
