Looking for adventure and fortune, Paxton Bryce (Preston Foster) convinces his friend and partner, Dan Taylor (Richard Dix), to give up their ferry business and go into cattle rearing. They encounter cattle thief Dominique Beauchard (Leo Carrillo), who provides them with a startup stock of cattle. The ranch grows in leaps and bounds, but Paxton's greed and refusal to cooperate with his neighbors costs him his son, his wife and his long-time friend.
