Plot
Angel on My Shoulder1946
A recently murdered gangster is sent to Hell where his repeated attempts to escape bring him to the attention of "Nick", the head man. "Nick" offers the gangster an opportunity to get out of Hell if he will take over the body of a judge, who's been sending too many people to Hell, and get him to do some bad things. The gangster takes the offer and, when he inhabits the judge's body, finds that he can't seem to do anything bad and he also falls in love with the judge's fiancée.

Anita (Loretta Young) falls for magician The Great Arturo (David Niven) and dumps her fiancé Donald Barnes (Broderick Crawford) to become the magician's wife and stage assistant. After a few years traveling the world with non-stop performances, Anita longs for the quiet life in a country farmhouse. Unnerved by her husband's flirting, tired of traveling and concerned about Arturo's dangerous escape stunts, Anita pulls a "disappearing act" of her own to force her husband to understand her feelings.
