Colonel Effingham's Raid
1945
An Army Colonel retires to his hometown in Georgia and is dismayed at the lack of civic pride his fellow citizens have. Taking up the task of bringing back some sense of history and tradition to the town, the colonel begins writing an article in the local newspaper. Shocked to learn that the town leaders plan on tearing down the Confederate Square and rechristen it in honor of the town's current mayor, the colonel ends up taking drastic measures against City Hall to prevent this travesty.
Country Gentleman
1936
Two con artists travel from town to town trying to sell their worthless gold-stock to unsuspecting victims. After a misunderstanding over offering a ride to a young man that led to possible kidnapping charges, the duo decides to use the opportunity to con the citizens of Centerville using a fake oil well swindle. The boys sell shares in an oil well that they erect on a small parcel of land they purchase and look to make some money and skip town, if not for the efforts of one young lady who sees the good behind the facade they project.
