Daniel Boone 1936 Frontiersman Daniel Boone (George O'Brien) resides in 1775 Kentucky where the territory is exploding with expansion from settlers heading west. Boone tries to maintain the peace between the newly-arrived settlers and the local Native Americans who are being stirred up by Simon Girty (John Carradine), a white settler who opposes further settlement of the territory. Boone also has to contend with Stephen Marlowe (Ralph Forbes), a Richmond gentleman who wishes to seize title to all the land in the territory and also try to take the affections of Boone's sweetheart, Virginia Randolph (Heather Angel). Our Daily Bread 1934 This film was produced and directed by the legendary King Vidor and was a homage to the strength and determination of the Depression era people who had a daily struggle just to survive. The story centers on a couple, John and Mary Sims (Tom Keene and Karen Morley), who can't make a go of it in the city so they decide to leave for the country. Once therer, they come across a farm and decide to try their luck there. In spite of their lack of knowledge or skills for farming, John and Mary begin their new life and recruit additional Depression victims to help with the farm, eventually turning the place into a farming commune.
