Plot
Mary Carroll (Vivian Blaine) wants to be an actress on Broadway. But when casting directors find out that she is the famous burlesque dancer known as "Doll Face," they tell her that she doesn't have enough "class" to work in their production. That's when her boyfriend, Mike Hannegan (Dennis O'Keefe) hatches a plan to upgrade Doll Face's image by turning her into a celebrated author. The fun starts when they hire a ghost writer that gets the hots for Doll Face. Throughout the film there are a number of excellent musical numbers performed by, among others, Nicky Ricci (Perry Como) and the delightful Chita Chula (Carmen Miranda). The music and dancing scenes alone make this movie worth the watch.Related Links

In addition to Vivian Blaine and Dennis O'Keefe, the are some great stars in this movie, such as Perry Como and Carmen Miranda. Ms. Miranda's "Chico Chico" music and dance routine alone is well worth the price. There are some very interesting scenes that highlight the fact that many things that were acceptable in the 1940s would not be very politically correct at all these days.

it brought back memories of a better time, enjoyable and fun music.
