For each exercise, Jari does lots of reps - building muscle without using heavy weight. Jari's cuing is clear and her transitions are very smooth. Each section begins with a quick one-on-one demo of the proper form plus a graphic showing the weight levels and reps - a great way to mentally prepare for what's to come. Finally, the workout is balanced off with an effective abs routine and relaxing stretch session. There is also a bonus segment on healthy eating.

About Jari Love: A competitive runner since her teens, health and fitness has always been central to Jari Love, which led to her becoming a personal trainer. However, with increasing responsibilities over time she had fewer hours to devote to training, so she used her knowledge of physiology to create her own training paradigm, customized for a busy parent and business person whose goal was to maintain peak fitness. Jari based her program on periodization and progression - two elements missing from most current exercise approaches. Get Ripped! is based on the training methods of elite athletes, current research, and her own experience. The workout incorporates progression of intensity that offsets the body?s normal adaptation response to exercise.

Jari pickes a resistance training exercise (usually a superset ot compound move)and keeps at it for 5 full minutes. And she keeps doing this 9 times. She varies the tempo (slow tempo, isometric holds, regular tempo) to keep it interesting and make the muscles burn. It can be done be people at all fitness levels because a. variations are shown by background exercisers for the less/more fit and b. by picking a lighter/heavier weight. The time flies and you dont realize this is a 60 minute workout. The only weak part of the workout is the final Abs section which does not really work the abs.
