Plot

A teenage girl's downhill spiral into drug addiction. A move to a new school in a new city puts great pressure on Alice, a high school student. Hoping to be liked, she tries desperately to be friendly with the school's "popular" students. Eventually she is invited to a party and she is introduced to drugs.

This is a true story based on the actual diary of a teenage girl caught in the vicious web of drug addiction and her desperate fight back to the real world.

William Shatner plays a role light-years removed from that of Captain Kirk in Star Trek and Jamie Smith-Jackson is utterly convincing as the young girl trying to cope with the humiliation which drug abuse can bring.

This film is compulsive viewing and although it may shock, it should be required viewing by every parent and teenager.

I remember seeing this when I was 15, and it left quite an impact. I downloaded it, and I found it just as powerful.

Jamie Smith-Jackson plays 15 year old Alice, an overweight awkward teen, who feels out of place. She gets invited to a party by the "popular" kids, and suddenly her life changes. Alice is whisked into a world of drugs and sex.

Even though this movie is 30 years old, times really haven't changed that much. Kids today, will do anything to be part of the crowd. I think this movie should be shown in Junior High Schools as a tool to show kids that being popular isn't as great as it appears.

The theme of the film is timeless, and it's played with sincerity. The clothes and hairstyles are dated, but it only adds to the charm.

This print is quite good, and the sound is crystal clear. I think every parent should download it, and watch it with their kids. It truly is "MUST SEE TV".
