Plot
Hay Foot1942
Sgt. Doubleday (William Tracy) is the pride of his Colonel Barkley due to his photographic memory. After accidentally embarrassing firearms instructor Sgt. Ames because of his book memorization, Doubleday is mistaken for an expert marksman. Doubleday is set up in a firing range match with Sgt. Ames and Sgt. Cobb, the division's shooting champions.

A female physician traveling to Chicago stops in her hometown to visit her uncle, the town's only doctor. Hoping to convince his niece to stay and take on part of the caseload in his practice, the country doctor plots with his pilot friend to keep her occupied. Faking an injury, the pilot has the niece taking care of him and hopes he can romance his physician, whom he has fallen in love with.
