"KHAMOSHI" (Silence) is the story of Annie (Manisha Koirala) whose parents (Nana Patekar, Seema Biswas) are dumb and deaf. As a child Annie learns music from her grandmother Maria (Helen), who teaches her piano and singing. After a tragedy in her family, Annie's life is filled with silence as her father sells the piano.
One day Annie meets Raj (Salman Khan), who brings music back into her life. Raj inspires Annie's dreams to be a singer. Annie's parents, because of their handicap, are unable to understand Annie's desires.
Does Annie go against her parents wishes? Will she sacrifice her love?
