Plot
Two movies on one disc!Penny Serenade
1941
While packing to leave her husband, a woman plays some records and, upon hearing some songs, reminisces about their life together. Various songs bring back memories of their courtship, their impulsive marriage, her tragic miscarriage and adoption of their child as well as the struggle to keep the child. Throughout these remembrances, the woman begins to ponder her decision about leaving the man she has shared so much with. Cary Grant was nominated for an Academy Award for his performance.
Dark Mountain
1944
A woman marries a man who, unbeknownst to her, is a mobster and she is subsequently implicated in a murder that he commits. With nowhere to turn, the woman confides with her former boyfriend, a park ranger, who takes her to a secluded cabin until everything can be cleared up. The mobster tracks the woman down and holds her hostage at the cabin, forcing the park ranger to rescue her and take her on a wild race down a mountain to escape her husband and reach the authorities.
