1940
Danny O'Neill (Fred Astaire) and Hank Taylor (Burgess Meredith) have spent seven years together in a college band. These two friendly but rival musicians aspire to join the famous Artie Shaw Orchestra. Through the efforts of their band manager and attention of their affection Ellen Miller (Paulette Goddard), Danny and Hank make it to the big time. Music and a few dance numbers from Astaire make this an enjoyable musical comedy.

Tom Brown's School Days
1940
A young man is sent off to attend Rugby School, a boarding school, where the new lad is subjected to the torments of a bully and his cronies. Looking for a way face up to the abuse, the young man learns boxing and is able to stand up to them. Through the help of the new student and his new-found friends, the headmaster is able to make some dramatic changes at the boarding school.
