Plot
Perversely delightful, often hilarious, and downright horrifying. Chaney is the household master of an eerie mansion full of regressive psychos. A tasty blend of pure horror and black comedy that has rarely been topped. Although he was probably hitting the sauce pretty hard during this period, Lon really gives it his best. The result is an unforgettable cult classic. Truly one of the best films in the Sinister Cinema catalog.Related Links

This is a cult classic, in the same vein as _Carnival of Souls_ and as brilliant in its own way. It is difficult, however, to view at times. Lon Chaney was in the later stages of alcoholism and you can see him sweating from withdrawal in several of the scenes. I love this film, and if you are at all into oddball cinema, please give this a try. Ralph thanks you.

What a find, I never even heard of this movie before. Ridiculous story about a family of violent weirdos with a supposed genetic disorder that causes them to "regress in childhood and further into a primative state." Lon Chaney Jr. plays their chauffeur and protector. He also does the title song, actually a spoken word thing set to "Peter Gunn" like guitar riffs; it's a real kick. The title character (apparently) is a hot chick who likes to pretend to be a spider and kill people with two butcher knives. Her sister is also pretty and creepy and keeps saying "you should hate her, Bruno." Their brother has a shaved head, mugs a lot and like to sit in the dumb waiter. There's even a little eye candy for the guys. The great comedy actor Mantan Moreland has a brief role. I love stuff like this, and I can't believe I never heard of this movie until a few months ago. Great stuff if you like campy horror.
