After six years of marriage to a distracted insurance salesman, Larry Baker (Melvyn Douglas), Jill Baker (Merle Oberson) develops a case of hiccups. A psychologist, Vengard (Alan Mowbray), diagnosis is that Jill affliction is caused by marital problems. Jill decides to enter into a new relationship with another patient of Vengard, a neurotic concert pianist named Sebastian (Burgess Meredith). Although Larry agrees to a divorce, he remains in love with Jill. Will they ever get back together?

| Customer Comments | | Reviewer: teens on 05/06/08 |  | | a good three star comedy drama.bit thin on plot but fine if you like looking at a slightly blurry at times merle oberon.funny that several 1940s films linked a womans repression and mental state and the cure being a love of art and explorinG paintings.(also in dishonoured lady with hedy lamarr and a bette davis film the title of which escapes me)i laughed aloud twice i think.worth watching although burgess meredith is a bit too creepy and not lover material i feel. |
