Plot
The Amazing Adventure aka The Amazing Quest of Ernest Bliss1936
Ernest Bliss (Cary Grant) has just inherited a large fortune but is miserable, since he did not earn any of the money. In an attempt to break this feeling of boredom, he wages with his friend that he can learn a living for one year without touching any of his inheritance. During his time working, he meets Frances Clayton (Mary Brian), a poor woman who is about to be forced into a marriage of convenience. Bliss must decide if he's to help this girl or maintain his wager.

Gail Allen (Madeleine Carroll) is a no-nonsense businesswoman with little time left for any personal life. Bill Burnett (Fred MacMurray) is in love with Allen and hopes to share his feelings with her during a trip to Nassau. Allen begins to warm up to Burnett's charm but a misunderstanding forces her away from him and back to New York. Burnett returns to New York with the determination to finally win her over.
