Plot
The Black Godfather1974
J.J. (Rod Perry) started on the streets as a numbers runner and has worked his way up in the local crime scene. He is on the verge of running all of the action in the inner city except for the Mafia's hold on the urban heroin trade. Hoping to break the mob's hold on the drug trade in his neighborhood, J.J. and his gang decide to have an all-out war against the Mafia using their guns as well as their martial arts skills in the battle.

Madison Square Garden is the site of the 1979 World Karate Championships and at this event, participants, celebrities and spectators alike reminisce about the life and career of the legendary Bruce Lee and who is successor will be. Adolph Caesar (A Soldier's Story) interviews some of the attendees of the tournament, such as Aaron Banks, Fred Williamson and Ron Van Clief, about their recollections of Bruce Lee, his influence in their lives and what they think his legacy will be to the world of martial arts. Highlights of the tournament drive home the reception of martial arts in America and how Bruce Lee was a major factor in its acceptance.
