| Customer Comments | | Reviewer: Konjammenson on 05/12/06 | | | Take the odd world concepts of The Jetsons with the animation style of Casper and all the wackiness of Felix the Cat and you get The Curious Adventures of Mr. Wonderbird.
Not sure if thats the best description but the movie is cool and its basically about paintings chasing each other around. Also, a statue breaks his leg and gets mad. Sucks for him. |

We were stunnned that we hadn't ever heard of it, much less seen it. According to IMDB, the film was started in the early 50's, but due to a disagreement among the makers, not completed and released til 1980. I hope this is a better copy than the VHS version we have, which is very sad. But, if you love animation, you have to see this. |

| | Reviewer: Spectre on 05/21/07 | | | Well worth the two bucks for the wonderful animation and design as well as Peter Ustinov's vocal performance. |

| | Reviewer: A Viewer on 07/31/08 | | | If IMDB says this animation wasn't released until 1980 they are simply wrong. I saw this piece as a child at a UCLA Royce Hall Film Festival series in the early 60s, and shortly thereafter it appeared (once, as far as I know) in serialized form under the name "The Shepherdess and the Chimneysweep" on commercial television in the mid-60s.
Then it vanished, and this is the first place I've found since then with a reasonably decent print (though the splices are in familiar places -- obviously the same master).
This strange work has haunted me for decades, with certain scenes that I've remembered -- as it turns out -- with more accuracy than I might have imagined.
Very glad to have the opportunity to add it to my collection at last. Watch out for those trap doors!

May be a bit old but it is still a very great animated cartoon for young children. I enjoyed it. |
