Plot
Little Shirley Temple plays Sara Crewe in this story set in Victorian London. As her father is sent off to South Africa to fight the Boer War, he tells Sara to be a good soldier. Sara does her best, even when her father is reported missing and presumed dead. To make matters worse, the head of Sara's boarding school forces the little trooper into indentured servitude when the woman learns that Sara's father left the little girl penniless. But Sara never loses hope. This is a classic Shirley Temple film that the whole family can enjoy. Mixed in are many scenes with delightful music, signing and dance numbers. There is even a surprise visit by Queen Victoria, who helps Sara get her life back on track.Related Links
