Plot
In an entertaining Italian farce that features her legendary skinny-dipping scene, 19 year-old Sophia Loren plays both Cleopatra and her own doppelganger. A literal femme fatale, Cleopatra has a habit of sleeping with the soldier guarding her each night. The next day, each bodyguard is poisoned and replaced by yet another - for one day, then... But one night when the queen wants to sneak off to meet Marc Anthony before he leaves for battle, she has a look-alike maid replace her and leaving the lucky soldier very happy and still healthy the next day - to everyone's surprise. When word of an assassination plot comes out, the soldier (played by the gifted comedian Alberto Sordi) is wrongfully suspected and has to sort out the confusion of identities to save his life.Related Links
